Mapping Study on Artistic Freedom In Tanzania

Survey closed on Sep 29, 2023

In 1980, UNESCO Member States, including the United Republic of Tanzania, came up with a recommendation concerning the Status of the Artist, that called upon all UNESCO Member States to improve the professional, social and economic status of artists through the implementation of policies and measures which relate to training, social security, employment, income and tax conditions, mobility and freedom of expression.

Based on this background, CDEA, through the Artistic Rights project supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Tanzania carried out a mapping study to establish the status Artistic Freedom in Tanzania.
